Let's be real though

Invading undead burg as a fucking dragon at level 5 was some tight ass shit, I've never had that much fun in PVP before
you're one of those people, huh?
I use my claws and breathe fire, which are both really weak attacks. I don't care how long you've played, if you can't kill someone like that after the Asylum, then maybe you just need to

Spoiler
keep trying and be patient, you'll learn how to play it and have fun if you work hard.
Stop trying to get Verb to play a game that he no like Ariaaaaa
I'm not?

Verb. Remembered something. You didn't particularily enjoy the first souls because

A) Plays on the theme of humans being dickbags to one another
B) fuck it I forgot

You know how you can avoid both of your particular grievances? Play offline. Dark Souls can't be played online when you're in party chat. You get no messages and no invaders save for NPCs.

Dark Souls II takes it a step further. You can toss effigies into bonfires to weaken the links players have to your world, aka invaders. And of course playing offline still works like it did in the first.

It's a neat little trick that's both a hindrance but helpful some days.

Start up dark souls, open up party chat and then exit and you'll be in offline mode.

Not that I figure it'll start you playing the game since you said it was your cup of tea.

But now ya can't complain that they didn't give you an option to cut out human interaction. Missed the obvious, everybody did.

either way, i already went over how it doesn't really solve the problem

And likewise From also added in the feature of offline so people who don't want to be fucked over have that choice.

And in regards to nobody being fucked over. Whose to say some don't enjoy it?

It's like a submission/domination relationship between a couple in the bedroom. Or a masochist. You could argue that pain is something inherently made to be avoided. And yet there's masochists out there that enjoy that bite of pain.

People are contradictory. There is always, somebody who goes against the grain.

An invader coming to fuck you over in a critical moment spikes excitement and adrenaline. Perhaps frustration if you panic and lose. Perhaps "I did it!" if you win.

But like I said the option is there. I suppose it just comes down to your preference in the end.

you think you could punch any masochist in the face without warning, and they'll enjoy it?

which is bogus--as if that's the only possible way to get excitement and adrenaline
there's so many other ways that don't involve stupid shit

which is bogus, because you can get all that shit without having to get invaded
there's so many things you could do

Logically speaking then couldn't you that by agreeing to play this game you give consent to the stuff it puts out?

You choose not to play it. You don't give your consent. The players that do? They give consent.

So it all circles back to your point.

The masochists gave their consent and hopped on the train. You didn't. So that's the end of the road.

I was just making a suggestion to you because I suddenly realized nobody has ever brought up the argument before that dark souls has offline mode.

there's no contract

if the game had a disclaimer at the very beginning that read,
"WARNING: this is a game designed for depraved cunts, BY depraved cunts--if you don't like that, stop playing"

then maybe that would logically follow
it's not like i knew exactly what the game was gonna be like before i played it

i appreciate it, but don't worry, two people already have
aria and raw rugar

thanks for the offer, but until the option to invade players without their consent is removed entirely, as well as the ability to leave misleading messages, i will forever condemn this game

Well on invading, in Bloodborne you summon people by use of a beckoning bell and respond with a resonant bell. By the same token, you invade by using a sinister resonant bell. So summoning people online also opens up the portal for invasions. If you wanted to play online (maybe this hypothetical person likes messages) but not be invaded, don't ring the beckoning bell.

If you want to summon someone but not he invaded? An NPC appears in your area ringing the sinister beckoning bell. Kill that enemy and nobody can come through.

seems a little convoluted

or at least, not something i'd want to keep having to do just to keep the fucktards out, when i don't think invasions should be a part of the experience in the first place

exactly

i'm not sure you understand just how little i'm able to tolerate this kind of stuff

it should not be in the game
i don't wanna have to take measures to prevent invasions--there should be nothing to prevent in the first place

maybe if they added an option to automatically send a message that reads "FUCK YOU, CUNT" to anyone who tries to invade you, i might be able to overlook it

but yeah, that's still assuming that i'd be able to tolerate the misleading messages--and i'm not

You don't have to prevent them

Just don't ring the summoning bell

it's not like i can force everyone else not to ring it, though

and besides, you just said:
If you want to summon someone but not he invaded? An NPC appears in your area ringing the sinister beckoning bell. Kill that enemy and nobody can come through.
you'd have to do it if you wanted to summon somebody

so yes, you do have to prevent it, if that's how you want to play the game
and maybe that's how i'd want to play the game

so that's bullshit--i shouldn't have to do that to prevent getting invaded
and that's just kind of a nonsensical way to prevent invasions anyway, isn't it?

how about having a fucking "do you want to allow invasions? YES/NO" prompt
that's all they'd have to do--it still means that invasions are a part of the game, but it's better than having to kill an enemy

1) I enjoy PVP, so it goes without saying that I like being invaded? And if I don't feel like it at a time, I just avoid activating it. So yeah, I like invasion and summoning. Besides, most of the time the person has a summon so it ends up either 2v1, 3v1, or now in DaS2, 6v1. Its more of a challenge on the invading side than the invaded.

2) I never pay attention to messages unless it's pertinent like "ambush ahead"; if it's a lie I was cautious but still alive, if it's true I'm cautious but still alive. So really I'm not for or against it, it's just... there.
