The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

So is it finally going to be about actual assassins again like the first game was. That would be A-O-Kay.

They could make a clone of AC4 with a different story and I'd buy it. They're not saying less story. Just not as tied to progression as it was. No idea about how the combat will be. I didn't like the changes Unity brought to combat. Story also wasn't good. And it lagged and was so buggy. Syndicate wasn't too bad, but still didn't care for the combat. Punching and stuff instead of swords. If this one has a decent story with some good gameplay, it could be good. They've had quite awhile to be working on it now.

If AC still has that experience of dudes circle-strafing you for no reason other than pressing like three buttons to do a little animation you have no control over to kill one guy and then another politely shuffles forward for their turn them I'll pass... Again.

If they can replicate the same vibe in Egypt like they did with Syria in the first it should be good, I enjoyed the Assassin-Templar rivalry then but it's drifted way off

This series derailed, jumped a shark and went over a cliff with AC3 (And even Revelations) and just hasn't recovered.

Why have the modern story anymore? What is it doing?

I only played 2 but isn't the story about ancient aliens or something?

More ancient god-like civilization than aliens, but basically, yeah.

It's basically following Desmond's companions, Shawn and Rebecca. It'd have been better if they didn't end 3 deliberately at a cliffhanger to milk the main story more.

I'm in the minority when I say I enjoy the modern story as well, but I wish it'd pick up a bit or just end.

I'd like the modern story more if it didn't feel so vestigial after Desmond's death. Rebecca and Shawn are side character and aren't enough to really justify the continuation of it, which is unfortunate because I did find it interesting.

I like the setting, but a bigger map is just gonna mean more fragment things to pick up. Hopefully the emphasis on exploration also applies to the assassinations as well, let you do it how you want.

Though the fact that the character has a shield on his back worries me that they're gonna put more focus on combat, should be a stealth game first, with a combat system to help you get away or as a last resort.
