See, that's the thing. If they were making money off the content I was watching I wouldn't have a problem - but they're not. They're making money off the ads with free content.

I feel no moral complications with using adblock all over.

I prefer CGP Grey's view; he does promotions for whatever at the end of a video so he still gets payed/ video view (To my knowledge) but doesn't put annoying adverts that interrupt viewing.

It works for everyone.

OT- One step closer to required subscriptions. At least they got rid of adverts in the middle of a video, though. I certainly won't pay for youtube though. Most of the channels I watch host their videos elsewhere anyway.

and i think that's because they're instructed to--advertisers know full well that people block/skip ads
so if you put them at the end, literally nobody is going to watch them--you must put them at the beginning

that way, you force people to either sit through it, or manually skip it themselves

Sorry for not supporting things like shitty clickbait websites or YouTubers I don't like. I'm sure they'll go into crippling debt without the ad revenue I've denied them

Yeah. He hasn't done many yet, because this was only started a couple weeks ago. But it's pretty cool- he gets money and he doesn't push away any revenue due to adblock.

Honestly I'd prefer paid promotions because at least it's the person I'm watching who is doing it so it's not as obnoxious.

Bungie.net doesn't need my ad revenue.  They're all about going to their store to buy the Density t-shirts that I'll never buy anyways.
Facebook doesn't need my ad revenue.  Ad block disables only 150 million ads on one single page, but they still cash in big bucks off what makes it through.
I don't care if I'm not giving money to half the shady websites that I sift through.

I do disable adblock for sites that I want to succeed, that aren't too intrusive with obnoxious ads, and content creators that I like.

I'll take a look at the src for ad-block. Maybe there is a way to white-list / black-list some YouTube channels.

I'm not sure if there is. But a single click at the top of your webpage is simple enough.

Alright, that sounds good. I checked around in Adblock Plus's src and there IS an ON/OFF button which you can press. At least in the IE version of the code.

Exactly. Making videos on the internet is not and never was meant to be a steady source of income. If they really need money so badly that the few cents those ads get them are crucial, then they shouldn't be making videos on YouTube, they should be out getting an actual job to support themselves with. I don't have any obligation to waste my own time just because they don't feel like getting a proper occupation.
