It was about 1 or 2 am, I don't really know for sure since my phone ran out of battery. My ride left me behind, but they probably didn't care too much since they had friends over and probably wanted to let them use the couch that I had been sleeping on. I found a blue box of Camel on the street, 4 or 5 of them were missing and looked like it was lost on accident. I had no place to stay for the night so I was aimlessly wandering the streets. Naturally being depressed about the situation I was in, I went to a 7/11 and bought the cheapest lighter I could find, and lit one up before looking around for a safe patch of sidewalk to sleep on. And that's how I had my first cigarette.

I was the good little kid who waited a year into my relationship, after I turned 19 to start talking to docs about the best and safest ways to go about having sex before even trying anything. Hell, even as I was buying the lighter, I still couldn't completely believe what I was doing. But it was also the first night I had to sleep outside like that so I was at this point where nothing really mattered.
