It's funny just how absurd it is, that this chap was allowed to make all kinds of devices to torture monkeys to 'see if it screwed them up' ._.

If he used humans instead of monkeys, then the research data would at least be directly translateable to models of meatbag infant attachment. Instead you just have to kind of guess that a traumatised capuchin will be the same as a traumatised toddler.

Really, like I said in thread I made a while back in serious, while the experiments he did are grossly unethical by our standards today. The knowledge that was also gained regarding attachment and how it plays into development was incredibly helpful. Especially seeing as how back then, the belief that showing too much affection to your kids would be detrimental towards them was pretty widespread.

It really was invaluable, even if the means were as haram as it gets <.<
