Why are the aliens badguys again?

They have tech that has 100% reliability determines non combatants from combatants.

It even decides when a combatant is an acceptable threat.

Does technology of this type denote malevolence? A lot of care is taken to ensure the minimum amount of casualties are inflicted on the invaded culture.

It's funny that this was sponsored by the US Navy as a recruitment flick. Because the aliens show care the US Military wishes it has.

It's amazing that a ship which is over 70 years old, which by the way got turned into a museum is able to run fine just like the day it left port. Then there's the ammo which are still live, that's one hell of a safety vitiation.
