holy shit can you stop obsessing over trying to become a mod, lmaoit's never going to happen, for good reason.

So you've never enjoyed a movie more than the first time you saw it? You've never paid attention to the details and intricacies of the film after getting the general idea of it the first time around?
Quote from: Kirlia on December 19, 2015, 08:25:28 PMBro, calm down before you have a heart attack like Luke did in episode VII.What the hell is wrong with you? I hate expectation spoilers almost more than actual spoilers.
Bro, calm down before you have a heart attack like Luke did in episode VII.
Man, the way you're behaving is just like How pissed off Kylo was when he learned Jar Jar was his father.

You've never paid attention to the details and intricacies of the film after getting the general idea of it the first time around? No, obviously. But nothing compares to the first time you watch a movie. I was reading about a critic who said "If I could have one wish, it would be to watch my favourite movie for the first time again."Nothing compares to that first time. Nothing.
I always enjoy movies more when I can focus on the little things without worrying about the plot as a whole.
Quote from: Kirlia on December 19, 2015, 08:37:21 PMI always enjoy movies more when I can focus on the little things without worrying about the plot as a whole. Why do I give a fuck? You're wrong. For every time you watch a movie, there will never be a time list that first time. That inherently makes it more valuable than any rewatch ever will be.
While that sounds terribly nostalgiac and all that, I'd prefer to not waste my life wanting another first cheap high and be a bit more thoughtful and inquisitive.
Really, what specifically ruins a movie for you about knowing it before? The substance of a film is not the story, but how the story is told. If the story is told very well, then knowing it before shouldn't ruin your appreciation for it.
Are you implying I want to know everything about a movie before I see it?
>Caring about spoilerslmao

You do realize there will never be another second or zeroth time, right? Aren't those as incomprehensibly valuable as the first?
Quote from: Essessen on December 19, 2015, 08:41:44 PMYou do realize there will never be another second or zeroth time, right? Aren't those as incomprehensibly valuable as the first? No, because unlike the first one, you know what's going to happen in every subsequent viewing of the film. Why do I have to explain this shit.
How does knowing what's going to happen make it less enjoyable?
And arguably, if I spoil the movie for you, wouldn't that count as learning the plot for the first time, and be more enjoyable then watching the movie itself?
Because instead of admitting he's wrong he'll just continue the argument.

Quote from: Kirlia on December 19, 2015, 08:49:36 PMHow does knowing what's going to happen make it less enjoyable?Because learning is fun. Duh.QuoteAnd arguably, if I spoil the movie for you, wouldn't that count as learning the plot for the first time, and be more enjoyable then watching the movie itself? No, you fucking retard, because I didn't get to see it unfold in the way that the director intended. I didn't "watch" anything, either -- you just fucking told me.
If you don't care about spoilers, by extension, you don't care if you know everything about the movie before you watch it.There's inherently something magical about watching a movie for the first time that you shouldn't be able to deny someone.

You don't even know that spoiler he told you is true until you see it as the director intended, though.

I'll be expecting it.And even if the spoiler is untrue, I'll still be expecting it -- and that twists my perception of the movie in a way the director did not anticipate when she directed the movie.
You're only expecting it if you choose to expect it. Nobody is making you expect it, if you cannot suspend belief that it will happen, there is possibly some ability you are lacking.
