They are possible and it does happen, but techpriests who choose to retain those functions are regarded as weirdos >_> I can think of maybe one techpriest that retained their... giblets... (Alluded to in the Cain series at least) and a handful that kept their emotion centres too.

So it does happen, but it's rare.

I've only seen the new star trek films because my friend insisted we watch them, but from what I gathered from the second film, khan is a genetically engineered ubermenschen, which doesn't count as augmetics <.<

I could be wrong by miles though.

I'd suggest what boils down to a usb port for your brain. You can either transfer/copy information from your brain to storage or the other way around. That way you can get around the bottleneck, because you're not having to run off of mechanical storage. You're just using it as a failsafe/backup.

It'd suck carrying around a ton of flashdrives or terabyte SSDs, but that's unavoidable until more technology shrinkage occurs.

On one hand, you'd have a theoretically near-infinite source of knowledge.

On the other hand, the human brain was never meant to have more than one mind stored in it. All those thoughts occurring at once would probably drive you rather mad rather quickly.

One of two things. Augmented muscles and tendons because my joints hurt like hell(Im a broken down ragdoll more or less) or advanced vision so no more glasses and I want to see in different spectrums.
