I had no clue it was Dark Souls related, woops. I'll watch anyways and maybe figure some stuff out.

At least it's not britain where people (Who never watch any other games, mind) inexplicably stay up to watch some random game. A game which is on through midnight for us on a sunday night.

Well I can understand why. I don't bother with the NBA at all until like the final 6 teams are left.

I can't. It's like me watching some shitty LoL game for no reason other than it's special, despite never having shown interest in the game or the tournaments before and never doibg so again. All this and going out of my way to watch it in the early morning when sleep is preferable to being tired? Nah. I don't get it.

If you have a way to get there yourself great,  but its the same as a taxi, a moving vehicle requires resources and if you require them then you have to pay for them. A plane is no different.

Anyway, if I want to spend $21,000 to go see a game, it's my money and I can choose what to do with it. The problem is telling me it's wrong for me to do that. If I worked for it, I dictate what I use it for. I earned it, if I want to donate, I'll donate.

I hate this argument because, you have money right? No matter how large or how small. You have things you don't use right? Why haven't you given it all to charity. The people who cry we need to spend money on important things are the same people who refuse to actually use their own money to back it.

I donate money to a lot of foundations that help underprivileged kids. I also spend a lot of money on things I like. I have every right to say fuck everyone my money is my money. I'll buy out $100m worth of tickets (imagine a billionaire saying this) if I damn want to.

There's so much irony in calling for something to be changed, when you yourself aren't leading by example. You don't need to play video games, why not sell it and give the proceeds to charity?

Not how life works, not how the world works. I do my part, but I have no right to tell someone what they should and shouldn't do with their money.

Be an organization, team, person, anything. What's your money is your money, and so long as your not spending it to legitimately hurt people, then they have every right to do it. It's not our fault people suffer around the world. What's our fault is if we waste what we have for stupid reasons that backfire with us personally.

People value different things. I love football (soccer), everyone knows FIFA is corrupt, but the FA isn't. The EPL isn't corrupt at all, and provide entertainment equal to the money they have. If I feel spending money or wasting my time watching a game is worth it to me, and I enjoy it, then it's justified. We speak with our wallets. If we like something, we support it. If there was something fundamentally wrong with sports then they wouldn't exist. Humanity loves competition, I love competition. Sitting on your ass complaining and not backing it up puts you in the lower position then those actively doing what you hate.

I could have fed thousands of kids, yet I bought a bunch of cars. And there's nothing wrong with that. Perspective is perspective, but harsh reality persists. What happens across the world doesn't directly effect me. Im not blind to it, but I realize I value what's in front of me more. No matter how selfless you are, you'll support someone you actually see before you support a cause in which the people yelling are the ones making you pay for it and not them

It's all well and good to piss on Football and cite current groups that could better use the Money, but it's wasted hate tbh, and a tad hypocritical if you personally aren't making a consistent effort to help others in need/have your major life goal to end all poverty. On top of that, it looks like you're just exaggerating your disinterest so you have an excuse to shit on as many people as possible, your YouTube video has me convinced that you're nowhere near as negatively geared as you'd like to have us think. We all do that at some point so fair enough.

A better criticism of Football (and Elite Sports in general) would be directed towards Over-Competitive Parents and Coaches at the grassroots level, the risk of fucking up an Athlete's development due to an overtraining injury, or (in some cases) fucking over some kid with world championship/olympic ambitions and work ethic because he refuses to bribe Doping Inspectors while shortening his lifespan by 20 years just to make a team.

I know you're not going to stop with threads like these whenever a major sporting event is on, but almost all of the spectators have grown up with a Sporting culture of some kind, if you're hoping to better understand the mindset behind it. Since early in School, people have acquired an interest in Football simply because it's popular to the older kids/they were nudged in that direction by their parents. It's simply cool to like, and the Ads on TV are mostly marketed to gather hype for a major event. Chuck on Sirius by the Alan Parsons project, a highlight reel of people absolutely burying themselves, and some expressive side lighting and the only people who won't get excited are the ones who have the mindset of "I absolutely refuse to let myself enjoy this." e.g: You.

To finish up, I'm gonna quote Luci from a while ago when a similar debate flared up. I kept it around because a lot of my Facebook friends absolutely love to bash it to look edgy.

Why do people feel the need to speak so loudly against something a shit ton of people like? It doesn't make you special or more cool that you "reject" the popular form of media. If anything it shows you're trying too hard.

Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy and don't take a shit on their parade. It doesn't hurt you. You don't have to dislike something and feel the need to slam your flag down and proclaim why you don't.

I'm not a fan of Walking Dead at all but I'm not going to see a die hard fan and say "Oi, your show sucks. Feel bad you like something I don't", because it's something he's passionate about and enjoys.

Actually, my school was pretty much devoid of "bullies." There were no cliques, because there were a lot of nerdy kids who played sports, and lots of big guys who lifted, but were never on any team. Everyone got along with each other just fine.
