So in a society where anything goes, why would consent matter
Since you said there is nothing wrong with a society without values
Except for consent.

Consent is the one value. Next to suffering, it's pretty much the only thing that matters in the world.

If you're against gay people being parents, you're against gay people.

Whatever you think is acceptable for straight people, you have to think is acceptable for gay people, or else you're a bigot. Simple as that.

Unless there is direct evidence against it

Even so
I'm not against it

I don't get where you think this all anti gay shit from

Literally nobody in this thread is against gay people

No. Wrong. Especially if there's direct evidence against it. You can't help the way you're born, and you deserve every right that anyone else has when you're born. That includes having kids.

Your argument is no different than looking at crime statistics and disdaining black people as a whole due to it. If you're discriminating against someone because of how they were born then, little statistics or not, you're a bigot. That's literally the definition of bigot.

So what if two people consented to something that harms an unknowing third party
What if two people consent to go fuck a dead body together
What if two people consent to do all they can to increase global warming
All this is fine I guess because people consent

Or if I don't consent to paying my taxes
Or if I don't consent to feeding my child
Or if I don't consent to putting my child in school

Then that's wrong. ALL parties must be willing.

That harms a third party, being the rest of humanity, so it's wrong. The rest of humanity did not consent to that.

Harms society. Society doesn't consent to your tax evasion.

And if I'm born schizophrenic and shoot up a school, it wouldn't be my fault because I was born that way

You would get in trouble with the law, just as non-schizophrenics would. There's no discrimination there...

A better analogy would be if you're born schizophrenic and not allowed to go to school out of fear you'll shoot it up. That's wrong.

Rockets on my X
Because you really need to fuck somebody to love them, right?

Anyway, incest primarily gets its roots for being wrong for two reasons.

1. An overwhelming majority of families practicing it being host to really fucked up people, and all the mutant babies born with defects from especially unsafe sex.

2. The Westermark effect. It's a hypothesised psychological mechanism that affects people in their very young years living in close proximity to other people like family memebers or other close relations. It inhibits sexual attraction or feelings towards such figures.

So consent has to extend to even the most far reaching outcomes of your choice?

And what of consent made by completely uninformed people?
I suppose it would be ok for two people to willingly feed each other rat poison if they consented

And so what if what I do harms society?
No one is saying they don't consent to me doing what I want

Face it
There are things you should and should not do and it doesn't just make it alright as long as you consent to it

There's nothing wrong at all with two people knowingly feeding each other rat poison. It's just suicide.

Wait. Please don't tell me you're one of those retards who thinks suicide is morally wrong...

Yes. If a third party's rights or autonomy would be affected by your choice in any way, you must have their consent.

Quote

Well, yeah. It's your responsibility not to be a dumbfuck and drink rat poison.

If you were tricked into drinking rat poison BY A THIRD PARTY, then there you go--consent was violated.
Quote

No one is saying they don't consent to me doing what I want
Because most of what you want to do doesn't directly affect them.

You can only consent to something if it will have obvious or direct implications on you.

Signature goes here.
Two people having sex has zero effect on others, more so if others don't know about it (it's not like they need to know about it).

Sorry, I left for about an hour and a half and came right in and this was the first thing I read.

Pretty much everything you do will affect a third party in some shape or form

Nice little echo chamber you two are creating

You keep putting words in my mouth

First I hate gay people and now somehow I think suicide is morally wrong
You might as well continue arguing without me

Knowledge is the only factor in morality
Once you know enough, the decision you make will be the best one

Whereas
Consent can be made with uninformed people
This is why you see so many single mothers
But I guess raising your kid alone on welfare is alright since you consented to sex

Well, no it isn't, because having kids is wrong and it's your fucking fault for not aborting it/having sex in the first place.

You keep bringing up third parties, when we repeatedly tell you that implicating third parties is wrong.

You can say that they could be using that time to find the cure to cancer and they didn't which harms the kids with leukemia

If you stretch it far enough, you will find a third party that is affected, which is why it's such a shitty thing to base morality on

Except there is no way to know how far every act extends, meaning your morality is spotty at best

The only factor that makes sense for morality is knowledge
If you're informed on a subject, your decision will be objectively and morally correct

tbh man I'm tired of this thread
This wasn't even was I was asking in the first place lol

Morality is multilayered and there's no one variable to it
You're right we should try our best to make the best choice we can

But I'm tired and this thread has prevented me from working on my calculus project which I procrastinated on RIP

So lock requested

Get of my lawn
For those arguing about the child being effected: Should women over 40 be denied the right to give birth? After 40 the risk of your children having Downs Syndrome skyrocket. I see no laws setting a maximum age for pregnancy.

Incest isn't a sure way to birth defects.

So... As long as everyone is adult and consenting, it's no business of mine if they are together
