Everytime there's a common theme in society, there's a counter theme that takes over.

When the Internet first mainstreamed a lot of memes were created by everyone and as a result a lot of sexist memes that normies looked at and cringed a bit but not more than that were created. SJW however voiced how stupid it was and people agreed so they grew. SJWs did too much though and went too far and normies thought damn relax so the alt right gained power 'cause they represented freedom from SJWs. Now that the ALT right has their era normies are beginning to think "Jesus, stop being so obsessed with race mixing and all that other bullshit" and as a result that era's gonna end soon too.

Already people are beginning to call racists out on 4chan, but there's nothing for normies to cling unto yet, no new era. If I had to guess the new direction will greatly differ from the theme. We don't wanna regress back into SJWs, and the freedom we got from no rules and fuck feminazis is too much. I think that moderation and individual thinking based on your own values or rational values might be the next big trend... Well either that or people becoming more engrossed in black Youtube culture
