The daughter blood magic and his son had similar powers to Bran, which lets him control a pure white bear. Called a Wyrg. It's possible Bran came to the North Grove, but I find it unlikely, probably just a different one. EDIT:SpoilerOh, and it had undead like Bran and his companions encountered and aweirwood tree. You had to enter the place from a cave too.
