Mago, Irri, Rakharo, Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Pyat Pree, Pyp, Grenn, Ser Barristan Selmy, Queen Selyse, Princess Shireen, Princess Myrcella, Mance Rayder, and King Stannis are all dead in the show, alive in the books.
At this point the shows are so divorced from the books they might as well be two separate franchises.
Yes, there's a lot written.
Quote Yes, there's a lot written. For the books how many pages are there to them that are useless shit which has no bearing on the main story? My dad reads them and he told me one book has a hundred pages that's about some random. He said they were about the guy's journey to meet Daenerys and at the end of it he gets eating by a dragon.

If Cleganebowl doesn't happen the franchise is well and truly dead.

Completely uninteresting character and as such it was impossible to give a shit about him at all. He was only (sort of) redeemed at the very end of his last chapter, and that was because he gets brutally killed.
