There are screens everywhere nowadays, where there used to be none 100 years ago. All that eye strain will take its toll. I just hope I'm not blind at the age of 80 or anything.

Scratch the "more quickly" part, how about the overall population with eye problems? Will that increase to a certain point, or continue to grow?

I spend the majority of my day looking at all sorts of screens and my vision has been steadily improving for some bizarre reason. Probably has nothing to do with the screens, but hey, whatever I'm doing is working.

besides--i would imagine that the amount of strain your eyes can take is genetic
though i could be wrong there

Yeah, but, it would have literally no impact on the amount of blind people relative to the population. All it would do is decrease the absolute number of blind people by decreasing the total population.

I imagine the amount of strain your eye can take is a genetic factor, but so negligible as to be not worth considering.

i'd say it's about as negligible as any fear that future generations are honestly going to go blind because there are "screens everywhere"
