Why is White Chicks considered a terrible movie?

T4R. It seems no one in my family can comprehend this. We all thought that movie was hilarious. It seems like the movies we think are funny are generally considered terrible and the movies that other people think are funny, we think are terrible. Other people find movies like Step-Brothers and The Other Guys funny when we find them terrible and crude. So why is it that White Chicks is thought of as a terrible movie when it is amazing?

And so is Grown Ups. Not sure why you used that as an example for a "good" "comedy" movie.
The Other Guys is the most bearable of the 3.

Because comedy movies generally try to pander to the lowest common denominator. Once in a while you'll get a funny movie that's actually good because if has some wit to it.

It's actually kind of shocking when you think of it. You'll find more humor in a serious movie than all Adam Sandler movies combined.

well yea, as casper said, they pander to the lowest common denominator. I fucking hate watching shit comedies with people who actually find them funny.
