100% agree. Probably our most ridiculous policy.

In this instance, it's probably when there's no discussion value to be had because it's just multiple users flinging shit at the OP. It's fair enough, imo.

Yeah it usually boils down to if it's just turning into a shitslinging contest, sometimes it can just be taken to another thread (the discussion) but if after a few attempts at cleanup and breaking it up there is no end to the bongarong then it's just going to get locked and maybe some warnings dished out.

Discussion progression is one thing but subverting a thread completely into a different discussion which turns into an argument is the usual cause of a lock/warn.
