Why does the DCEU suck so badly?

To you. I happen to love capeshit movies. It's a hard thing for me to admit.

it sucks because they're trying to play the catch-up game too hard with marvel

by the time the CU even begun, marvel's CU was already well-established with like 32 movies, two of which involved all of the heroes banded together, and already made like 300 trillion dollars altogether or something ridiculous

so instead of flooding the market with even more superhero movies (which we should be thankful for) they've only subjected us to a few, but in doing so, the overall pacing of the franchise suffers because we haven't been given as much of a chance to become attached to literally any of DC's heroes (except wonder woman i guess), so none of the movies have had a real sense of chutzpah or gravitas to them because nobody gives a fuck

also zack snyder is a hack and put the franchise to an early grave with the piece of shit that was man of steel, which was bad because it tried to do for superman what chris nolan did for batman, and as it turns out, you just can't do that very well

suicide squad was also doomed to fail because it's just a really fucking stupid premise

every movie has to have a big epic fight at the end in order to make the average shithead consumer feel like they got their money's worth, because there was a big dumb fight with lots of action and explosions therefore it was an "entertaining and fun ride"

they're just over-inflated movies made by giant studios and factories specifically engineered to paint by the numbers and appeal to as many people as possible while simultaneously trying to compete with another company who's doing the same thing, but has had a decade-long headstart, and that's just not an equation that could ever lead to anything called "success"

well okay the movies make lots of money so i guess that means they're successful, but they're soulless and inartistic and nobody likes them and that's what i mean

So what you're saying is they lacked a soul and weren't fun.

emigrate or degenerate. the choice is yours
Tried to pathetically catch the crumbs of the MCU but wrecked their pacing by cramming everyone in a last minute team movie without having established most of the characters beforehand.

Plus at that point everyone knew the formula as two Avengers movie's had already been established. The novelty of a superhero team up movie had worn off.

It's funny because WB had a chance to make a JL movie mid 2000s but canned the idea thinking it would be too risky.

They tried to rush the characters in instead of slowly introducing and developing them. Not too much of a fan of Marvel anymore either though, they've become way too formulaic and soulless for my tastes.

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.
The whole franchise could have been saved if the Cavillstache hadn't been killed by computer generated uncanny valley.

But anyway speaking of Superman if they just did a shot-for-shot adaption of All-Star and ignored everything up until now I wouldn't mind.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
DC is darker than Marvel on average (compare Civil War/Secret Empire to Blackest Night/Dark Knight's Metal), but they went from "dark" to "grimdark" without thinking.

Superman is the big blue boy scout, a silver lining in hard times. Despite his own struggles to relate as he became more alien to humanity as he grew, and humanity became more alien to him, he always tries his hardest to embody the ideas of hope for a brighter future.

Snyder's Superman feels 100% inhuman, and is portrayed almost exclusively as a Christ figure. Not to say that the parallel has never been made, but it's a matter of extremes.

Justice League did better than other DCEU movies in getting the feeling right, but suffers from having a cast that isn't fleshed out already (so the movie has to dedicate an unreasonable amount of time towards doing a rush job of it) and large amounts of development problems.
