Why does it seem that the people with the highest post count...

I find Das posts a fair bit in multiple threads, but that's not the only way to get the post count up. I'm reasonably certain the bulk of Elegiac's posts come from replying to (almost) every single comment in his threads. That's a pretty easy 30-40 posts in a single day right there. Another thing to think about is they could've been extremely active early on, and dropped off. Without the relevant stats on their post count per month, I can't say for certain, but I'd imagine it has some merit.

I'd say a lot more of worth, but seeing as I post in any thread that catches my attention, my posts that actually contain views and discussion look few and far between.

Since you've joined, I've changed my name twice, alltogether, I've changed it 4 times and every time I return to Byrne. With the most recent name change lasting less than a month and each time I've kept the same nameplates.

I've wondered this also.

I see Meta, Verbatim, Sandtrap and Challenger often in threads, yet barely ever see any of the heavy-hitters around here it all. Das and Byrne crop up occasionally in my view but not as much as the post count makes me think they should.

It's almost as if there's another hidden board on here somewhere...
