I generally avoid everything of a socio-political subject matter now (well, outside of this site, people here aren't as idiotic as most places). I know what my positions on various issues are, I know why the opposition holds their positions. I just don't care anymore. I'm fed up with the constant hate, negativity, circle-jerks, idiocy, partisanship.

I know there's nothing I can do. I can't say anything, if I did I'd either be ignored or become victim to slander. I'm done.

Calling random shit that aren't memes memes is a meme in itself, oddly enough.

People love a good circlejerk. It's comforting to know that you're not the only one who holds your beliefs. Also, someone more eloquent than you may be able to articulate one of your shared ideas better than you ever could, making it easier for you to explain your own views succinctly and in a way that makes sense, because you were taught how.

I do try to keep a balance. I'd like to say I watch more alt-right content than leftist content, but it's about equal.

That said, loudmouth YouTubers are probably the bottom of the barrel when it comes to substantive political discourse.
