Why do some men find the need to cat call to women

"HEYYY BABYYY WOOO"

"Hey girl haaayyy"

"Dayum! Girl you fine as hell"

Like these are things that most women could go their entire lives without hearing in a serious manner.
Sure a lot of the times guys are just fucking around, but I wonder do they ever stop and think about what they're doing?
