Shouldn't it be on the left? It feels so weird seeing it like this. Maybe I'm just a stupid ignorant American that doesn't understand, but can someone shed some light in this please?

The wheel is on the other side of the car and they drive on the other side of the road. Fairly simple. Hell technically right hand side is the weird and new way to do it considering left hand traffic was the original

Wait, so are the turn signal and wiper controls also reversed?

Here in the state you control turn signals with a switch on the left side of the wheel, and the wipers with a switch on the right side.
