I think you told someone to go fuck themselves for implying you're racist.

Oh yeah. Charlie said something about me not caring about Teryvon Martin and not thinking of him as a person when in fact I don't know a single person who is a bigger advocator for human rights than me.

Not sure that warrants a ban though. How long is it?

That gets you banned? I mean, if someone calls you something and you respond with the implied same level of hostility, it's pretty stupid to only ban one party.

Calling someone a racist isn't necessarily being hostile.

Pretty sure it's one day.

The sticky has been up for at least two months now, and it's straightforward. If you don't get it, one of us would be happy to explain in more detail.

I have a feeling that explanation would differ by each mod. Sometimes posts are edited, sometimes there's a ban involved, and often things are just ignored unless something is as forward as "fuck you". You guys frequently ignore intent over message. Charlie attacked the guy's character and you don't care, but he responds in kind and gets a ban. It's just a day, no big deal, but still, no need to be quippy when it's obvious moderation is anything but standardized.

You will have to link me the thread because you get see intentions or implied hostility based on how you type something.

You're going to get that with every forum, that's just human interpretation on what is supposed to be standard. One of the smaller forums I visit/lurk is a forum for discussion on Evangelion. It's a niche forum with an ever so small fnabase yet their forum has the same moderation problem you are facing. Just today I got a thread locked there because of an "attitude problem".

Rules can be set in stone but their interpretation can be up for debate. When you're posting on the internet and not talking face to face, it's hard to tell what exactly the other person is really thinking because you can't see any sort of cues for it, you're just reading text on a screen. TL;DR: Human error fucks things up.

Get of my lawn
If it's for a day, don't sweat it. I caught a three day for asking Das to goos step off of a building

And I wasn't race baiting. Just making the point that too many lionize those from their " team" while asassinating the character of the other. Scalia had just as many reasons to jate him as love him. The determining factor is your political leaning. To many, his death is a good thing. I used Trayvon as an example because just smoking weed isn't reason to be bullied into a fight where the other party pusses out and pulls their gun. If character assassination is allowed, then Scalia is fair game. To many, his rulings made far more damage than any single person

How many people, on the news, got on and said he deserved to die because he was a thug?

I don't know, I didn't see anything like that. Quite a few people defended use of force in a case of self defense, but that's not the same thing as saying he deserved to die because he's a thug. I'm sure a lot of them were influenced by racism. If that's so contemptible, why would you bring it up to defend the same thing about Scalia?

I'm not saying anyone deserves to die, but Scalia's rulings did harm to a lot of people. Why is his character assassination proof?
