Even though the game has been relatively the same for over 100 years, MLB was still experimenting with things during the time these pics were taken. These were taken during the Deadball Era where you would rarely see anyone reach 10 HRs in a season and pitchers dominated. Also IIRC there was a time where some teams wore shorts instead of pants and that was a disaster.

The baggier uniforms look pretty silly, but I still like them. The ole uniforms are charming, and earnest looking.

I'm not into sports, but out of all of the major professional sports out there the one I appreciate the most is baseball, because of the history behind it.

Yeah, these old uniforms are silly compared to what they wear now. Sometimes some MLB teams will have throwback days and will wear similar uniforms to what teams wore 100 years ago.

The history behind baseball is super rich which is just part of why I love the sport so much. Connie Mack (he's in one of these photos) was apart of MLB as a player and manager from the 1880s up until 1950. Vin Scully, the legendary commentator for the Dodgers, began his broadcasting career in 1950 and retired after the 2016 season after 67 years as a broadcaster.

2017 was the first season since 1885 where we didn't have either Connie Mack or Vin Scully and that blows my mind.
