RoTJ would've been the best Star Wars movie if the Ewok scenes were replaced with something else.

I enjoy watching Jedi more, but I recognize that ESB is a technically better movie. I also like the Ewoks.

There seems to be this meme where when a movie is not as well received, people try to attribute it to one thing, but that's rarely the case. Jedi has so many scenes that drag on too long, contribute nothing to the story, or could have been cut all together. The script probably could have stood to go through at least one or two more drafts.

Ewoks alone aren't the reason Jedi is the weakest of the OT, although they certainly didn't aid to the movie.

A large part of what drags Jedi down is mostly because the Ewok segment just doesn't go anywhere. It's 30% of the movie and all it really leads to is an exposition scene between Luke and Leia.
