German on my mother's side, German on my dad's side.

A man named Peter Gift came to Kutztown from somewhere near Munich in the early 1800's and proceed to make clocks for a living. That side has been here ever since.
I'm not quite sure of the exact details of my dads side though.

My father's side goes back to my Grandad's grandad in Ireland somewhere. My mum's side goes back to England but I'm not sure where either.

still picking away at my grandfather's paternal side. based on the lead that my great grandfather spoke a lingurian language variant called tarbarchino I've been able to pinpoint the exact island that my great grendpappy's side inhabited. The history of the place seems to match up with what I've been told as well.

in an effort to go back a bit farther down the line. i'm going to see what i can find out about the Italian town of Pegli near Genoa pre 1739. then i might try and explore my Swedish side... maybe contact some relatives who don't know I exist.

my paternal grandmother's side is well documented though and my grandmother has shit that can be traced to the 1200s

Well, my mother's side of the family got out of Ukraine before it joined the USSR, so, that's pretty much how I'm alive. So, my mother's side is Ukranian/Polish (the border moved around a lot in the area, so its hard to say what I really am) and Swedish. My father is mostly Scottish, Irish, and German. My family traveled around a lot, so it's safe to say I'm pretty much a northern mut.
