Most ban/warning templates already come with a link to the relevant post or thread, as shown here:The only times I don't include a link to the thread is when it's blatantly obvious what you are being banned for. If you're spamming the place up with a dozen new threads, posting meatspin or are blatantly ignoring a warning given to you just a few minutes prior, it should be pretty clear what you're getting banned or warned for.
