What would it take for you to join the army?

Inspired by Naru's post, of course. Assume you have no mitigating factors like physical or mental health considerations, what would you sign up for?

I'll end up joining if I run out of options, for whatever reason.

I've always pondered this.

Since both my brothers are in the service, I'd think if one of them was KIA I would join up ASAP.

Nothing. Our government is filled with greedy asshats and scum. Why would anybody want to be under contract with the US government when you could literally do anything else. And anybody who says your fighting for the country is delusional.

I go back and forward to I would join willingly if there was a call for me to do it, then I would go to Officer Candidate School since I am a College grad. And the other is only if I got drafted...

If I were to join, theoretically, I don't think I could be a commissioned officer without combat experience.

If you were to join as a regular enlisted man then yeah thats the case. But College Grads have the opportunity to go into OCS once you complete Basic Training... So says my local recruiter.

Yeah thats true. I prolly wouldn't go Infantry anyway if I joined willingly.
