The only thing he had to do was deliver a powerful lightning blast, and that would be the end of a working suit. But if Anakin didn't get the suit, he wouldn't have had that advantage over him. So what was his plan going to be if Anakin came out of that fight unharmed?

Just like Sheev, Anakin is very powerful in the Force, or at least he would be with training. If he didn't have those injuries, he would be able to fully use the Force, just like Sheev. Would he realize Anakin is a threat that he couldn't control, and kill him the moment he found out Padmé died?

tbf, the EU it does go on to clarify that Sheev had no intentions of Vader surpassing him in power.

Dunno if there's any relevancy to that any more.

Instead of complaining about my posts all the time why don't you guys point out the mistakes? Maybe that way I can see what I'm doing wrong and make them less painful to read.

At the time of Padmé's death Sidious was still a great deal more powerful than Anakin, so I don't think he had to worry at that point. However, Sidious clearly had no intentions of letting the Rule of Two take its course (having instigated the Rule of One), so I imagine he would have a) killed Anakin while he was still powerful enough or b) let Anakin reach his full potential but kill him in his sleep (a la Darth Plagueis). Even though Anakin had the potential to be much, much more powerful than Sidious, I still think the Emperor would outsmart him in some way.


Also, it wasn't necessarily the suit that was hindering Anakin from destroying Palpatine, but that Palpatine was simply much stronger after Anakin got destroyed by Obi wan.
