What is the point of expensive Mech Keyboards/mice and shit?

Okay, seriously I don't get it at all. Regular stuff works perfectly fine, what is being gained by throwing more money at this stuff?

There's a point where it's not warranted, yes.

However, you can't exactly compare the responsiveness, durability, and comfort of a five dollar wallmart mouse to... let's a say a 35 dollar logitech mouse.

Certain things, like mechanical keyboards, work more efficiently for longer.
Really though, unless you're a really intensive user/gaming a fuck ton, you don't need to spend lots of money on that stuff.

I don't have a mechanical keyboard but I do have a mouse. The mouse I have now is so much better than my previous one. It's more comfortable, more responsive, and has more buttons on it. For everyday use like browsing the internet and whatnot it's pretty useless except for the extra buttons, but for gaming it's 100 times better.

Well mechanical keyboards feel like fingerporn. It's something about that click that makes them feel really good. That as well as the features that come with some: USB ports, headset jacks, additional keys (macro keys), additional functions, etc...

Expensive mice with different levels of DPI and polling rates is like the difference between how well you notice 30 FPS and 60 FPS. Some people are sticklers about how precise their mouse is. Ergonomics is also really important, and plays a big part into the mouse that I buy, personally.

That said, I found a really good mouse, that fits really well, has good DPI/polling, and has other good features (6 extra buttons, customizable LEDs, customizable weights, etc...) for $30.
