Second one is just lazily throwing paint shit on a canvas which isnt art. Anyone who says it is needs to be executed.

I can't logically discern any message from any of that so it's bad art.

At least that's what my art professors thinks about it.

Yeah, I don't really consider it art if it isn't meant to portray or represent something. I deem it as a waste of time, but at least it's not my time that's being wasted.

Yeah, I don't really consider it art if it isn't meant to portray or represent something. I deem it as a waste of time, but at least it's not my time that's being wasted.

Art can be used as means of meditation/reflection which in turn gives it a purpose beyond solely conveying a message, and in that regard I do not consider it a waste of time.

Depends on the artist. Rothko is cool, as well as some of the others who take a purist stance. The ones who try to make statements are always hit and miss.

Not my job to judge how someone else decides to express emotions. Whether or not it resonates with me doesn't matter; it's fascinating that someone can make something that nobody else "Gets" despite it being very personal and emotional.

It's, uh, abstract.

Unfortunately, I've never really been able to look at an abstract piece and read anything from it. I guess I have to be blugeoned upside the head with blunt imagery to get the picture. I don't mind some abstract stuff though.

The only thing I don't really like too much is when somebody over-states their so called abstract art and goes on a dick riding rampage about how artsy it is.

I remember hearing a story about some guy who had his stuff destroyed because somebody mistook it for random garbage. Except that his stuff was actually something like a trash bin with stuff tied to it. There's a line to be drawn somewhere though, sometimes. Although that line often blurs a fair bit and is hard to see.

But hey, if there were ever a nice way to make money off the rich, throw some paint on a canvas, call it abstract, sell it to them, and they'll eat that right up.

First one looks pretty cool, second looks like a Pollock, and I don't really care for him.
Abstract art can made for some nice interior decor if it's a piece that most could find visually pleasing.

I'd hang it below Fruit's face so it would symbolic of the thigh gap.
