In first class they give you enough alcohol so that you don't care about the food. Also the food up there is pretty nice.

I saw a a tv program about that once, it was with that "Magic Chef" guy from the UK. Basically it's caused by the dry air, which makes us less receptive for smell and taste. Apparently spraying a water-salt solution up your nose makes it better.

one time the flight attendant (he was dressed in rags kinda weird for a flight attendant) gave me some food called "allahu akbar". It was square and kind of hard to chew. Needless to say it blew up in my face and was pretty gross.

5/10 Will not be eating that again.

And they're not forced to "overcompensate". The compensation is capped at 250€ and depends on how long the delay was, the distance you had to travel and other factors.

Stop trying to brand your evil communism as a sensible consumer benefit.
