Would a 2003 car need a computer module?

Online I've found a 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class that is near me. On the sellers site for it says "Mercedes Benz Dealer said it needs a Computer Module" so I was wondering how important those things are? To me it sounds kinda expensive to buy one and get it put in.

Nowadays, computer modules in cars also regulate the engine, steering, fuel, brake control, battery management transmission, locks, windows...

There's usually several different modules in a single car, all regulating different things. You should probably check with the seller which one exactly is broken.

Mid- to late-90's is when cars had computers, IIRC. Yes, an '03 Benz would need one.

You already had computers regulating fuel mixture and brake assists before then.

Fair point. No idea how important the modules were back then. BC could probably answer this.

Unfortunately, I do not know what the computer module in this car would control. :/
