In the grand scheme of things you're absolutely right; however I go to the movies at least once a week and the difference between when I go to a regular screening of whatever and a screening of an anime/Japanese limited release movie is like night and day.

I still remember the time I went to see Kingsglaive in theaters and it was a full house, a guy that worked there said to huddle up so everyone can have a seat and then he said "You can ask the people next to you which Final Fantasy is your favorite" and suddenly everyone took that as a green light to yell random numbers between 1 & 14 as loud as possible.

I still have PTSD from seeing Bleach in theaters.
