The biggest issue is that people have this negative disposition towards the site. They've never looked at it let alone posted on it, yet they hate it because so many other people do.

If we can get rid of everyone's hate boners, we'll have better luck.

However, Offtopic has really become dead. Especially since the no alts decision. I think this forum could really continue to grow into something even better, maybe in part by filling the void left in places like b.net's offtopic...

I think we've squeezed out about all of the new members we'll be able to get from bnet and related communities. It's not like there's any incentive to take residence here if you're not from there. It'd be hard to create a climate that is welcoming to new members without making the off topic forum filled with generic and pointless threads. The gaming forum would be made better by discouraging "Mega Threads" and mods constantly merging threads seriously needs to stop.
