I don't hate him for the pedantry, because I know it's just part of the show's humor, but I just don't think he's that funny. A lot of his more serious or calculated observations are pretty insipid and base, and demonstrate more often his ignorance of the film's plot than any inherent "sin" within the film itself. And yeah, he's just not funny at all.

"LOL THIS SCENE DOES NOT CONTAIN A LAPDANCE XD"

The best film reviewer on YouTube is probably Adam from yourmoviesucks.org, and even some of his opinions are pretty shit.

Yes, certain satire is inexcusable and should have repurcussions but Cinemasins hasn't done anything wrong with their content to piss me off.

I mainly keep subbed for when they do films I like. I never actually take them seriously because half the time they criticise something that gets explained either before if you pay attention or later on as part of the plot.

They're fun to watch though. Particularly the ones where they get NDT on. Stuff like The Martian, Interstellar and Gravity.

Originally they were typically very short, like 2-3 minutes, and the title was emphasizing that. Eventually they became more popular and decided to increase their length. The "x in y minutes or less" format was popular at the time, and they stuck with it.

OT: I like their videos, though I tend to skip through some parts. They point out tropes and their meta jokes can be pretty fun when unexpected. Obviously they're not legitimately critiquing stuff. Folks that get butthurt about their misinterpretation of the plot don't seem to understand the point of the channel.
