The Rage....
lets be honest, if he didnt spend a chunk of his money on drugs and the like, hed have some money so he wouldnt need to do such a thing
he spent a miniscule amount of money on drugs

remember when he bought a $10 bag of shrooms and everyone freaked out and said he should've found a $10 hotel room or some shit?
i mean, if you're in a bad financial situation, spending $10 on drugs IS kinda a chunk of your money
not really....

$10 for a night free of stress and responsibles is going to do better for your emotional situation than a $10 meal from McDonalds
i dont know about you, but id rather not starve to death than feeling good knowing ill die if i dont buy that meal.
if he was literally starving to death, he would've bought food
if he was smart, saving money and buying necessities would be a priority over any type of drug
what are you not fucking understanding here

$10 cannot buy you shelter
$10 cannot buy you a job
$10 cannot buy you a long term source of food

if Sol was on the brink of starvation or dehydration, he would've used the $10 to buy food or water. His issue was a place to live

you're the kind of person who thinks homeless people shouldn't be allowed to buy alcohol. Fuck off.
save the money and use it to buy necessities, its not a hard concept to grab. drugs arent a priority.

and they shouldnt because of the chance of abuse which would further ruin their lives.
Booze five dollars

place to stay thousands of dollars

not a hard concept to grasp

you try being a homeless person, and have people tell you you have to hold onto every dollar you find on the ground on the off chance that someday, after years and years of saving, you'll have rent money for a month.

Like I said, fuck off. You have no idea what it's like to be homeless, you entitled piece of shit.
because trying to be happy in an unhappy environment is gonna make things better for yourself. drugs are better than trying to better yourself so you risk an addiction so your life can be a lot worse off than before.

yea, ok. im totally entitled. uh huh. perfect.

I prefer people coping with life in whatever way they choose. If a homeless man, who has nothing to live for and hates everything about himself and the world, wants to escape from his shitty reality, you're in no fucking position to tell him he can't. Your worldview is so fucking self centered and holier than thou it's ridiculous. You have no idea what it's like to have nothing, and you have no grasp of how people cope with that nothingness. For a homeless person to turn his life around in general, he needs a lot of money, a lot of time, and a lot of help. That's obviously the goal that they should strive for, but that goal means nothing if they can't live through their day to day life. At the end of the day, when a hobo is sleeping on a piece of cardboard and wondering whether or not to kill himself, a drink in his hand will let him live into tomorrow. You're trying to take that away from him because you live in this clean little environment and you just know the best fucking thing for everyone on the planet. When really, you have no goddamn idea.

"you don't know what it's like"

this has got to be some form of logical fallacy

Do you really think--do you HONESTLY believe--that if I were homeless and sick and poor and lonely and desperate, that I would EVER resort to doing drugs or alcohol?

Because I wouldn't. So what the fuck does it matter whether we know what being homeless is "like" or not? It doesn't change anything. It doesn't change the fact that drinking is the dumbest fucking thing ever. Your life is only going to get worse and worse and worse. Alcohol only exacerbates your problem.

No one's saying you can't drink it. But you shouldn't. If you value your intelligence, you should never drink.

When really, you have no goddamn idea.
considering my family somehow made it through with life to get where they are now, from mexico with barely anything, they were smart with how they managed money by not wasting it on stupid shit like drugs. its not fucking hard to understand that drugs are worse than food. you can spend your money however youd like, but in the end its your fucking fault for choosing a retarded ass way of trying to cope with life. happiness through killing your body just makes things worse for you and dig you deeper in a hole. but because they do drugs and become addicted, well, they cant fucking do anything because they wanted to be happy for a night.
No one is giving up a fucking meal to drink alcohol, Jesus Christ. It's a side thing. If a homeless alchoholic is starving, he's going to buy food.
if he didnt buy those beer cans and drugs, he wouldnt be fucking starving.

lets be honest, if he didnt spend a chunk of his money on drugs and the like, hed have some money so he wouldnt need to do such a thing
he spent a miniscule amount of money on drugs

remember when he bought a $10 bag of shrooms and everyone freaked out and said he should've found a $10 hotel room or some shit?
i mean, if you're in a bad financial situation, spending $10 on drugs IS kinda a chunk of your money
not really....

You have no idea what it's like to be homeless, you entitled piece of shit.
because trying to be happy in an unhappy environment is gonna make things better for yourself. drugs are better than trying to better yourself so you risk an addiction so your life can be a lot worse off than before.

yea, ok. im totally entitled. uh huh. perfect.
And for some people, alcohol makes them happy. You have no right to judge.

Thanks for admitting you're an entitled piece of shit, though, glad to finally have some honesty here.
so you prefer people getting addictions to alcohol than trying to better their lives through other means? like your view on happiness is such horseshit and holy god it makes me wanna punch a fucking baby. yes, its your fucking body. yes, you deserve to be fucking happy. no, you cant do a meaningless activity which can potentially ruin your fucking life just for a decent night in an already shit world.

and i dont care if im entitled, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see how risks work with taking drugs over other things.
The concept of saving money for important things when someone is in a shit situation seems to be lost on Class, don't bother Gasai.
yeah man, that $5 is really going to go to something

not like a place to live costs thousands of dollars a month or anything

not like some people need alcohol to get through the day without shooting themselves or anything
Exactly, the concept went over your head all the way to a different part of the galaxy where Ender went and got shot down.

$5 for a liquor bottle every other day, an extra $75 at the end of the month

wooooo! After a couple years, he can afford one month's rent! Totally a great tradeoff for being in constant agony every day with no escape from it!

But not everyone can fucking say that, genius.
And that's the problem. I don't even agree. I think everyone can say that--They just don't.

You watch someone you respect just give up and succumb to their cheap desires--why would I not respond with anger, or disappointment?

I don't respect Solonoid as a person, but I respect him as a human being--and that's why I refuse to enable his toxic behavior, or the toxic behavior of others. If I see it happen, I'm gonna be pissed off about it--because that's all I can do. I can't change anyone. The only thing I can do is express my disapproval as loudly as I can, until maybe someone realizes that their life would be a lot better if they dropped whatever shitty habit they've picked up on. It's a crying shame that people choose to be so weak, and that's my way of coping with that fact. Anger and frustration. That's my release.

Your solution is to just sit back and allow them to fuck their lives up until they're dead. Because that's preferable somehow. Can't wanna be negative or judgmental. It might hurt their feelings.

constant agony every day with no escape from it!
An agony that will only worsen if he continues drinking.

A brief moment of fake happiness--what a great tradeoff for being even worse off from where you were before.

Lay off my nigga Sol. His life situation wasn't exactly making it easy for him to save/presenting him with a safe option for savings.

If you respected him as a human being, you'd respect the one thing that every human has a sovereign right to do. It's not a "bad" choice to spend more days drunk than days sober if that's how you want to experience your life. Just because you enjoy living your life in a certain way doesn't mean that's how everyone enjoys living their life. You're born into this world not owing anyone a thing, and the fact that you were unlucky enough to be born means that you can spin that bad dice roll into one where you enjoy your time here the most. No choice you inflict upon yourself can be bad if you sincerely enjoy it, and don't regret it.
