Huh, I expected you to edit your last review into something funny. But I guess it`s a major waste of time, so...

Watch Mardock Scramble. I probably would recommend you to watch Eureka 7 too, but I haven`t seen it yet

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

you dropped yu yu hakusho after 6 eps? the first 6 eps are indeed the slowest(and nearby pointless) of the whole series and well... the rest of the show is so vastly different.

Why the hell is shounen battle anime so consistantly fucking regressive when it comes to female protaganists?
I don't even mean in terms sexualization, when I comes to that I dont really care. But why for the love of god are female protagonists all worthless tokens every single time?
I mean they have literaly zero bearing on the plot whatsoever, and the show does not even use them for fanservice. The most they ever get is one fucking girl power episode within the entire 3 Trillion Episode run of the series and they go back to being a complete non-factor. They aren't there to draw in the female demographic either so what is the point?
Why does japan do this?

Watch Fist of The North Star. It's really charming and also somewhat hilarious.

Has the show aged really well? No.

Does each episode's plot seem basically the same as the ones that came before? Yes.

Is our protagonist, the noble Kenshiro, the perfect man? Yes.

'cause the world of HxH gets a lot better as time goes on, and the nen abilities get fleshed out. Seriously, the Nen system is the best in all of anime/manga when it comes to supernatural powers because of how smart it is.

I also wanna know what you'd think about Meruem and his arc

Texhnolyze (Madhouse, 2003, completed) This is a good show. None of you are gonna like it, though. If you know anything about it—and if you know anything about me—then it should come to you as no surprise at all that I wound up liking this one. If you don't know anything about it, then it's going to be very challenging for me to explain the show's appeal, because this is a very challenging show. There's very little to "enjoy" about it from the surface. It's probably one of the darkest and "edgiest" shows ever, with a lot of heavily nihilistic life-sucks-and-then-you-die philosophical musings (and just like that, I lost about 90% of you), but unlike a Berserk, it actually pulls this off very well, and never quite comes off like it's trying too hard, despite how absolutely fucking brutal it can get. I don't think you necessarily have to see eye-to-eye with the show's philosophy to enjoy it (even though it probably helps). Everything that happens is pretty open to interpretation, and you're never exactly told how to feel or how to react to any of it—it just is what it is, and the grim realism and attention to detail with the beautifully presented—albeit visceral and grotesque—backgrounds and character designs adds a lot to this particular style of storytelling. This also helped establish Ichise as one of my new favorite anime protagonists. It's an extremely rare treat when art is able to capture what life is truly all about, and believe me. This show gets it. Also, I'd like to just point out that Markhan—the person who recommended the show to me—is the first person to ever recommend me an anime that I wound up thoroughly enjoying, and nobody else has come within a mile of doing so. So, congrats. Sincerely. This is a special show, and it saddens me that I'll probably never come across anything remotely like it again. It's definitely earned a spot in my top 5. And I mean, I do have my problems with it, but I won't even get into them here. I'm too happy that such a show exists to even criticize it. 7/10*

*This could easily shoot up to an 8 or a 9. I just need to rewatch it a couple times before I make that decision.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, 1984) Scratching off some more Miyazaki off the list. I was actually prepared to give this one a 6/10, until I started thinking about it some more. I realized I was only giving it a positive score because it happens to cater to my politics. I think Nausicaä is a great character, and another fine example of the strong, independent, non-sexualized female lead that I'm so perennially fond of. But then again, she's also a bit of a Mary Sue. Then you have the film's overall pro-environment, anti-pollution message—a message that pleases me ideologically, but it's also executed in a rather heavy-handed way. I can't just give a movie points just for being on the right side of all these global or political issues—I have to rate things based on how they're presented, and in this case, I have to be just a little bit harsher, even though I wanted this to be my highest rated Ghibli film. 5/10

The Wind Rises (Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, 2013) This is the 6/10 I've been waiting for. As much as I respect the guy, I'm not sure if Miyazaki is capable of making a film that I could rate any higher than that—but this film is, for quite a few reasons, his best movie, and it doesn't surprise me AT ALL that a lot of people consider it among his worst. The story is told in a creative and decidedly un-Miyazaki-like way, but it's still directed in his trademark safe, cuddly, and inoffensive demeanor. The parallels between the Jiro's life and Miyazaki's are striking, and introduces within me a unique kind of fear that I've never felt before beyond trace and fleeting amounts—that the fruits of your creative passions, whether they be flying machines or cartoons, could wind up being used for great incomprehensible evil. That scares the shit out of me, and knowing that Miyazaki himself—being the pioneer that he is—now looks upon the industry he helped build with a cold and almost bitter resentment really gives the film a sense of gravitas that none of his other works have. I think if the film actually explored the consequences of this a little bit more, this could've wound up being a 7/10 or higher. As it is, not a whole lot really happens of substance. At no point does Jiro show any regret for what he's created—because the message of the movie is to encourage innovation in spite of the inevitable abuse your creations will undergo—but it would've made more sense for Jiro to have a stronger emotional reaction to it all, I think, just to give him a greater sense of humanity. Among other issues, too. It's pretty long, and not every scene in the movie is stellar, but it is—as of right now—my favorite of Miyazaki's repertoire. 6/10

Rurouni Kenshin (Studio Gallop, 1996, thirty episodes) It lacks a lot of my least favorite tropes, despite being a shonen, so it's respectable in that regard. I enjoyed it enough to sit through a decent chunk of it, but I kinda just stopped caring after all. It's just too long, and the story is too messy and uneven for me to continue following. The inconsistent quality of the episodes caused me to find myself growing bored with it more often than not. That said, it's one of the better shonen I've ever tried out, but it's still nothing special. 5/10

Katanagatari (White Fox, 2010, six episodes) Almost decided to finish this one, but I couldn't. It was just getting way too stupid, and I've come to the conclusion that everything about the show is utter trash from the art style, character designs, the fucking story, the dialogue, and almost everything else except for the OST and a select few characters which were actually decently likable. The show puts all of its eggs into these small baskets and leaves the rest of the show to rot, and it's a bit of a shitfest. 2/10

oh and Kenshiro makes people explode with martial arts and when he hits people he sounds like a castrated Bruce Lee.

He is literally never truly challenged by any opponent in the show.

It's amazing. Also the theme song is 10/10

are you referring to the 2011 version of the original? i'm assuming 2011

i didn't make it that far because i have little patience for long shows that don't get good right away, but i don't know, i guess i can put it in the "rewatch" bin for later

I glad you liked it. Though, you would see it sooner or later, rather sooner, seeing how much of Digibro content you consume. My involvement here was almost redundant. Almost.

The only thing I achieved is to erase "nobody has ever recommended me anime I would really enjoy" statement, which I did purely intentionally, because I wanted to do this initially anyway and, after you watching Angels Egg (which I was planning to recommend to you but couldn`t, because I've not seen it), my wish to do it grown so high I went to watch 1st ep of Technolyze, which was just enough for me to recommend to you.

I really did jerk off myself right now, as a disquisting human being I am glad you enjoyed it.

"rewatch" bin for later
Might as well toss there Steins;Gate. Not that you gonna watch shows in "rewatch" bin anyway. But if you do, I challenge you to watch it to the end and after that rewatch first episode couple of times just in case.

Why do weeaboos treat anime seriously like it's an important thing? They talk about it like a job. I can't put my finger on it exactly but it's so abnormal.

I think it's like the hipster music scene. There's so much shit out there that when you find something that's actually enjoyable it's an incredibly rewarding experience.
