Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet was interesting, too. Good dub, and not a half bad take on some cliche story elements. I don't recommend reading plot summaries. The first episode is necessary for the plot and appears as a generic mecha story, but is not representative of the rest of the series.Saw it on Netflix, so it may still be there.
