there's annoying voices, and there's (what i presume to be) the artistic choice to have an annoying voice

the way a character speaks is carefully decided by the acting coach or director; this is part of why i don't like to blame the actor herself, and i tend to avoid using terms like "bad acting," because (on top of my suspension of disbelief being very high) it's very often not the actor's fault at all—that's just how they were directed

so when i said "distracted by a terrible voice actress," what i really meant was, "the decision to make this character's voice sound annoying as fuck did not go over well with me"

it's not that the acting is "bad"—it's just unappealing, and that's where the detraction comes from

to put it another way, it's possible to have an annoying voice in your show that DOESN'T detract from its appeal; take spongebob, for example

"annoying voices" are just another tool in the box, it's neither intrinsically good nor bad; but just like you wouldn't hammer a nail with a wrench, you wouldn't give a character an annoying voice if you wanted to make them likable

I personally associate OP and ED with musical pieces that you can separate from the series and not miss anything whereas intro and outro are the start and close up.

Then said friends sacrafice themselves forcing him to realize he's the most powerful before vanquishing the demon/warlord.
