People will recommend the absolute best or their personal favorite trying to impress you, and you will watch a lot of good anime without wading though anything meh tier.

Plus, then you get to turn around and be an asshole to strangers on the internet. Your favorite!

Hey Verb, I'd reccommend Garo: Honoo No Koukin.

It's an anime set within the same universe as a live action tokusatsu that you may or may not have already heard of, but I really enjoyed the story of it and it had some nice animation, with some hit or miss 3D CG. Plus the intro themes are kickass.

The only other person I know here who watched it was Byrne and I have no clue where he fucked off to.

As someone who only watches anime when forced to, I can say that I genuinely enjoyed Katangatari. Would recommend watching it. I would describe it further and give a few grievances, but I wouldn't want to give any impressions.

Also Nichijou, but that's just normie-tier at this point.

not on purpose, but yeah, that appears to be the case

writers tend to be given a lot more freedom when they're not constrained by company standards and having to appeal to the LCD and whatnot, so that often results in a more interesting (if not outright better) all-around product

which kind of applies to all art, really

I would say yu yu hakusho is just dbz with better characters with more diverse animations. So you prob wont like it at all. I must also say, while cowboy bebop is good(and the dub is fantastic)... it's overrated. If you ever get through your list (which theres a lot of shitty ones in there) i say give trigun a shot(pun intended). The first 5 episodes are kinda slow with a lot humor but things really do pick up at the end of ep 5.

That one had some really impresive CGi compared to what we've gotten recently. Whenever someone says Clangserk was bad just because it was animated in GC I point them to this.
