Thanks to the folks who commented some tips about glasses earlier. I appreciate it. Bad news is my eyes checked out to be working fine save the issue of Uveitis. I wasn't satisfied with Monday's checkup so I ran another one when my eyes started getting worse. So I've got a refferal to another kind of eye specialist way down south in a city.

So, I'm gonna see if I can cough up enough money to get me that far as quick as I can.

A brief summary of Uvetis is that it basically just comes in, fucks your eyes up until you can't see anymore and suffer permanent vision loss, and is a gateway to all other kinds of eye problems like glaucoma and other fun stuff like that.

I've gone over some of what sort of tests I'll be taking to figure out the exact parameters of my condition. One of those lovely tests includes samples of the fluids inside of my eyes.

Which means they'll be sticking fucking needles in them.

Cheers.

I find that wireframe glasses are comfier but typically don't cover as much with their lenses as non-wire.

It's just a thin metal frame. Usually their lenses are small so they may have spot in your vision that won't be covered. You could always get a wireframe with larger lenses, but then it's starts looking dorky.

There are entire stores filled with different styles of glasses, so yeah there's a lot of different styles.
I always liked glasses that only had the frame on the top half.

Same.

Hmm. Guess I should start thinking a little bit more about frames. I might need something a bit sturdier since I work all over the place. You figure there's any difference in strength between a half frame and a full one?

Honestly no I don't think there would be much of a difference. What matters is the quality of the frame, and if it's able to bend without snapping. That would be something to ask about when you visit your local eye glasses shop.

God dammit. My eyes were seriously, like the last thing of mine that functioned properly. I never was much of a fan of relying on external breakable things to do important stuff for me. I guess it's better than the alternative though.

I sincerely hope me needing glasses is the issue. I'll keep that in mind though about the bendy frames. Although I don't have a local glasses shop. And the eye specialist I'll be visiting is quite a ways off. I'm gonna drop a hammer's worth of questions on them.

There's always contacts. Or LASIK.
I've thought about getting LASIK myself but I prefer using glasses as an accessory. And then there's the price...

If you have glasses I recommend always having a glass cleaner cloth with you at all times. They get dirtier faster than you would think.

Hmm. Contacts. I don't trust my shaky hands to put them nicely or get them out nicely. And I'd be too poor to afford laser based corrective stuff. May as well just go with the glasses.

I am worried though. Best case scenario is that I need glasses. Worst is everything that doesn't involve glasses. I know my family has a bit of a leniage of eye based diseases or conditions. I'm hoping I don't get another shit roll of the dice here.

I actually didn't think of that. My province is dusty as shit. Thanks for the reminder. Guess that'll be a routine I'll have to pick up as I go.

Your eye doctor might have one to give you when you get the glasses.

Well there are some cloth materials that will scratch your lenses...

Not mine. They're mostly full of holes and full of all the crap I pick up when working. I don't actually think you're supposed to use a shirt to to clean glasses.

I do know that certain materials scratch the lenses.

I got it done towards the end of high school, my grandmother paid for it. One of the best decisions in my life.
Maybe later on I'll get that. It would be kinda nice to drive with out them especially at night.

I had glasses from the 1st grade until I was about 18 or 19. They're not so bad, and honestly I was never bothered by them getting a little smudged up.

Oh also glasses with anti-glare are neat. You can see things a bit clearer when there's bright lights (no "star bursts")

I might need that actually. The symptoms I'm rocking right now are eye pain and an extreme sensitivty to light. I might need tinted shades.

Well, lemme think. If I put a green gap on and don a cigar I could imitate Castro.

I think I was told I could imitate Jeff Bridges as "The Dude."

You wager I could go for a John Lennon look with tinted shades? Guess it might not be so bad. I could have a little fun with this.

Hey that's right.

He wore shades.
Dude just put on a bath robe every day and nobody else will give a shit. You will look great whilst effortlessly dressing yourself each day.

The lenses on mine, however, are more rounded. I can't stand rectangular lenses. They just feel off, somehow.

Transitional glasses. Look into them.
They turn into sunglasses when you step out into the sun.

Sounds intriguing.

Usually they darken too slowly to be of real use, though. Oftentimes I'll be out of the sun by the time they're done changing and won't need them anymore.

Granted, I don't know how much time you spend in the sun.
