I'm talking about the movies, genius

And? The Clone Wars is directly from George Lucas, and had begun production before ROTS started filming. It's just as much part of his story as his movies were.

No such thing as character development, apparently.
YouTube

Well, that's sort of cheating, because that shit was made decades afterwards.

I guess Attack of the Clones Boba Fett doesn't count either then, since it was decades as well?

RotS was made decades after the OT, too. So that gave him plenty of time to realize that, "Oh, I wrote a shitty undeveloped character named Boba Fett. Maybe I should expand on him more while I still can."

So again, you're sort of cheating the argument.

That doesn't make him any less overrated you know.
He's also a mega cringey kid in it. Not really doing him any favours.

Plus it's directly from Lucas. Hardly a good thing.

Bingo.

So then Obi-wan's character development of dealing with his master's death and training Anakin doesn't count to his character either, as that is 22 years after his first movie?

You sound pretty silly using this logic tbh.

Yes, it wouldn't count, because that's beyond the scope of the original trilogy, which is what Lemon is looking at.

Boba is still an extremely overrated character for no reason, and what "development" he has is pretty bad.

Though I will say the voice actor they got for Boba in TCW was garbage.

Which is strange, considering everyone else was pretty damn good.

It's the same guy who played him in Attack of the Clones I believe.

Why is it wrong to like a character who had minimal lines? One would think that if the general public takes an interest in a supporting character they would take steps to exploit that attention.
idk

Reminder that the Clone backstory is shit and a prime example of a failed attempt at fanservice that managed to kill the mystery surrounding Boba Fett that made him cool in the first place.

It wasn't said but it was implied.
The nature of some replies seem to demean people who like the character. "How dare you like a character that was underdeveloped"
If you catch my drift.

I never once implied you can't like him or that it's wrong to like him.

Don't put words in my mouth because you're reading something I never said.

Alright that's fine then. Bit of jumping to conclusions I suppose.

My thoughts:

Poe Dameron is bae~

Aside from being so derivative of ANH, I thought it was a very good movie. I feel like it's a bit of a better movie, actually. The villains are more than just faceless villains this time, and in general, it cares a bit more to  stop to catch its breath on the big moments, or otherwise give them more emotional resonance.

The First Order is painted as mostly radical folks, and I'm pretty sure General Hux orgasmed several times during that speech. The planet-busting scene shows the reaction of more than one person, although the film missed a big opportunity by not making Coruscant be one of those planets.

And, of course, the big Han moment. If Georgie's prequels had done their job right, Obi-Wan's death in ANH would have been rectroactively improved, considering we had three movies to care about him, but the moment still kind of falls flat. The Han moment works very, very well in that regard. TFA used its status as a sequel very well to make us care about the people in this galaxy.

The acting was very good, too. It's on-par with, if not better than the acting quality of ESB. Adam Driver and Domhnall Gleeson were especially good in their roles. Kylo Ren feels like the character Anakin should have been, and any lesser actor probably wouldn't have pulled it off.

It's so refreshing to finally have a legitimately good Star Wars movie for once in a very long time.

My only real complaint was the music. It was disappointing. There was nothing that really stood out to me the first time through. It might be time to get one of LucasArts' composers or one of those trailer guys to take up the mantle.  :'(

I neither fear, nor despise.
For the characters who didn't get tons of screen time like Phasma, their part is meant to be played in the next movies.

It's a trilogy after all.

Lol. Made the same complaints when I watched it last night. It was basically a new hope all over again.

They had great characters and a great setting to work with. An empire in fractures trying to remain relevant. A Republic just starting to gain relevance.

Also learning to use the force so fast.
And a broken empire that after losing their centre, the emperor suddenly fixes itself and builds a bigger superweapon. I mean I would expect them to be in disarray trying to keep their planets from switching sides while the rebels are pushing ahead after their victory in the sixth movie. Except now everything is in a stalemate.

Kylo Ren being Han and Leia son is straight from the books.

I think the more I look at it. The prequels had the issue that they shoehorned and made a cringy love plot that could have been done better. Though when it came to universe building and anything related to the clones wars. It was well done.

Also although the prequels did follow a good concept when it came to overall arc. The way it was delivered was bad. Especially with the acting. Personally I still feel this movie is just a copy paste.
