I don't know, I thought I was pretty clear... My list basically contained about fifty things. If the anime/manga contained any one of those fifty or so things, I have absolutely no interest in reading/watching it. It basically ruled out everything. So the guy recommends Berserk, which is basically the culmination of everything I despise in an anime/manga. I don't know if he was just trying to troll me, or what. I suspect so. But it was obnoxious.
Berserk is pure quality, no-holds-barred.

And you weren't quite clear, you didn't finish your thought.
i cant remember if ive told you, but i actually went and watched Beserk because you posted about it. is the manga finished? i know a lot of people didnt like the anime ending.
Ohhhhh, the manga is getting really freaky now, we're not done by a long shot.
I hope they animate it properly when it's doen.
I love reading, but I find it very hard to read digitally and there's so much good stuff out there that can't be gotten translated, even if I had money.

I was really enjoying the anime until the last three episodes, I'd welcome another adaption.
The Eclipse was fucking awesome! It's half of what makes Berserk. I know it's skocking, but every anime has some bullshit happy ending, that's why I like Berserk, and for the same reason Evangelion. That shit is dark, but it's not without hope.

Besides which, the story continues after the eclipse, it isn't the end. They've made three new films that sum up the series, as far as it was shown in the anime, plus including heaps of stuff that they left out from the manga.
My main problem is that it comes out of (almost) nowhere, whereas I've heard the manga had more fantasy elements up to that point, but the anime was kept more real in style until then.
Which lead to a huge gap in what had happened and what was happening.

And yeah, I know it isn't the end, that's why I want another adaption, there's definitely a market for it.
Zod, all the talk about behelit's and the band of the hawk being massacred by monsters while griffith was being rescued wasn't enough foreshadowing? Besides which, I can take or leave foreshadowing; I don't really need it. I like to be shocked.

uuuuhg, Evangelion.
Be wary, fanboys about.
Spoiler
Poor Ossku, he thinks Eva is good.
poor Ian tried to change my opinion. didnt work out for him, though not for lack of trying.
ive seen rahxephon and i didnt like that either but i liked the opening.
The opening is the shit, far from my favourite, but it's really good.
Eva is awesome. My first full series of anime. I remember being an angsty teen in a dark room, summer of 2000 or thereabouts, watching evangelion and destroying myself with it. That was a good summer. Swimming in our pool, watching anime, playing FF7 and drinking too much mountain dew. Just waiting for Y2K.

But the monsters were treated like really rare creatures and the behelit did end up seperated from Griffith.
To me it was too much of a stretch, we have this great tale of these men fighting, living and how their lives intertwine, then suddenly demons everywhere and rape.
If it had of been a bit more fantastical up to that point, I'm sure I would've loved it.

You just weren't intent enough on it.

Rare creatures? And this clashes with the eclipse how? I don't remember when it was implied to be a weekly occurrence. The viewer was supposed to be as shocked as the band of the hawk was or else it wouldn't have had the impact that it was supposed to. It was hinted at long and hard though. Zod gave the first warning, and even the first time I watched the series, I knew something bad was coming to do with griffith after that, and involving monsters... because.. the behelit is freaky, and... ZOD.

There's a character called the Skull Knight who rescues Guts and Casca from the eclipse in the manga, and they've included that in the new films if it makes you any happier.

Spoiler
^Skull Knight is super important.
did they leave him out of the anime and for what fucking reason did they do that, holy hell.
when i said "watched Berserk" i had a fucking stroke of idiocy, i meant read, hence why i talked about the manga.
Spoiler
they began the anime with the first episode showing guts as the black swordsman, and then doing the whole flashback thing and covering band of the hawk saga up until the eclipse; they just left the first episode as telling you that at least guts somehow made it out of the ending and is going around whooping ass in the name of our trauma
lolwat. no wonder people were pissed.

They've made three new films that sum up the series, as far as it was shown in the anime, plus including heaps of stuff that they left out from the manga.

they began the anime with the first episode showing guts as the black swordsman, and then doing the whole flashback thing and covering band of the hawk saga up until the eclipse; they just left the first episode as telling you that at least guts somehow made it out of the ending and is going around whooping ass in the name of our trauma
lolwat. no wonder people were pissed.
Yeah, the whole time I was expecting Guts to run around chopping up demons and being an utter badass, instead I got young Guts running around with Griffith chopping up people and being a badass.
well that's how the manga runs too, no difference except that they left out a few characters and adventures
Oh I know that's how the manga goes, but I read somewhere that a lot of fantasy stuff was left out of the anime because the director wanted a more realistic setting and theme.

Did you see my post above?
much of the time before the eclipse is monster/fantasy free for the Band of the Hawk. after the eclipse everything falls to shambles.

^Skull Knight is super important.
did they leave him out of the anime and for what fucking reason did they do that, holy hell.
