i really liked the first movie. the feel of the first 1h30 was amazing. everything after was eh. especially after the fantasy setting was ass-blasted by the Christianity overtones.

Remember that time Aslan slashed up whatevertheirnamewas prince/princess's back because he thought they needed to feel what happened to the servant they ditched to flee their palace?

I don't remember how long ago it was I read these books.

Liam Neeson voicing Aslan in the movies, was just the perfect choice.
Such a great character (I like Aslan for OBVIOUS reasons).

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Why is everyone talking about The Lion King in this thread?

I liked Redwall when I was little, but Narnia stands the test of time.

I guess I read both when I was younger, I just remember the Redwall series a bit more fondly

Not as good. They had to take hobbit-like liberties to pad out the third one which has no 'final boss' in the books and is basically just a sea adventure to the edge of the world.

There's a lot for a kid to love in Redwall.

Yea, that whole sense of adventure really resonated with me at the time.

I should probably reread a few Narnia books  it seems like I didn't really appreciate them as much as I could now

If you like. I'd also look into his Space Trilogy, which is pretty cool.

Hmm looks interesting, I'll give it a read. I need a break from books grounded in reality anyway
