Think about it.

Episode I: Shit start to the trilogy, but still has seem redeeming elements to it.

Episode II: Arguably the worst Star Wars film of all time.

Episode III: Best of the prequels, but still has flaws.

Whereas,

Episode IV: Great start to an otherwise great trilogy. A few flaws here and there though which could be attributed to its budget.

Episode V: Arguably the greatest Star Wars film.

Episode VI: Not the best of the OT but still has some fantastic moments.

I too can judge films as the greatest thing ever before even seeing a trailer.

I honestly think all 3 original films are just on par with each other.
They each offer something fantastic.

Honestly prefer the prequels of the sequels. Biggest reason was the combat, especially lightsaber duels, were far more entertaining and adrenaline rushing

Nope, that would be Episode I. Episode II is actually fantastic.

Episode II is slow and drags things on.
Episode I has politics and stupid bad guys.

But both are Star Wars, so they are both awesome.

See, I disagree.

In the OT, knowing how to use a light saber is knowing how to fence.

Fencing requires deep concentration and anticipation. As a result, the state the combatants are in shows through their dueling.

It's a much more emotionally charged than the heavily sterile choreographed fights of the PT.

In the final battle, Anakin is in a state of pure rage, yet he's fighting in the same way Obi-Wan is.

Look at the final battle between Luke and Vader and you see the emotional battle the characters are fighting, Luke is pissed, so he starts swinging with abandon, ignoring any thoughts of blocking, while Vader, not wanting to strike down his own son, is completely reserved, only bothering to defend.

It's beautiful really.
