and it was just terrible.
Ender's Game is probably my favorite book series. It diverts into two character paths, and the final novel was supposed to bring the two characters back together after thousands of years. The book was quietly published (the surprise being that I didn't realize it had been released for a few months), and it was just terrible.

I waited about 3 years for Starcraft: Ghost and it was never released.I'm still disappointed to this day.

The latter are more military sci-fi books, and not very philosophical like the Ender books. It's kinda getting milked at this point, but it's still relatively fresh.
