Excuse me, I'm full of dog poison
Why is it ok to kill and eat cows, chickens, pigs, lambs, deer, and other animals but god forbid jo kills a fucking raccoon?

I hate to beat a dead horse (lol) but what is the issue?

This obviously doesn't apply to verb or anyone else who doesn't consume animal products.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
No its okay to conduct mass slaughter of certain animals but a one off is terrible and you should kill yourself.

Because when people take the more direct/personal approach in taking a life the negative feelings and responsibility associated with the act are highlighted.

I was talking about babies who can't kill animals but eat meat daily.

There's a difference between an execution and a prolonged torture. That's why you should only eat meat that comes from a reputable source, not a factory farm.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
Because I support the brutalization of animals that are turned into meats and spices for me to enjoy

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
I don't give two shits what you eat. If you want to live on the blood of baby bunnies and roast crows over a spit, that's your perogative.

Doesn't mean I have to think any of it looks appetizing.

Get of my lawn
TBPH, I do have a problem with sport hunters. The assholes who kill an animal just for the thrill of killing it. My grandfather went moose hunting one year, and guess what we ate exclusively for 6 months? Fucking moose meat. If you plan to hunt, bring it home and eat it, not just the head or rack.

but people who hunt for food enjoy it, so hunting for food is the same thing as hunting for sport /s

I'm purely speaking in reference to traditional supermarket foods like beef and chicken.

my point stands

OT:
i think people are literally just too stupid to realize that cows, chickens, and pigs are animals, too
just like a cute little raccoon or your precious dog

we also don't eat raccoons, traditionally--whereas with livestock, we can just say, "it's okay because they taste good"
which is stupid and evil and retarded, but such is the human race

it's a cultural bias that will inevitably die, but not for at least another century

I'm just not seeing how it relates to the question posed in the OP.

If I was a better person, in a better situation  I probably wouldn't eat meat. But I don't see what that has to do with why people think eating cow is okay but racoon is gross.

i would say that the majority of thinking people would concede that truth, yes
and that's fortunate

however, you have to remember that we live in a very religious society, where 90% of people believe in god--and a lot of those people believe that animals were put here by God himself to help sustain the human race

not to mention nihilists who don't give a fuck about anything

they're out there

haha, you'd be surprised. some of the people that i call my closest friends are firm believers that the only productive purpose for livestock is being food for humans. then there's my christian friend who believes they were placed here by god to act as food for humans.

and, believe me, debating philosophical topics with normies is a bad time

i just can't stand the  "i dun care, do whutever the fuck you want, dun matter to me" attitude when it comes to any subject that implicates sentient beings in some way

so it was a little tangential, because that attitude bugs the shit out of me

america

i know the number of religious folk is significantly lower worldwide--but with more secular attitudes comes more nihilism, too

people find other gods to worship--like gaia, nature itself--which is also a nasty religion

I think you would agree that the specifics are less important than the general in this instance. If someone abuses a dog, does it matter if it's a dachshund or a poodle?

I'm just saying I'm not going to care if you want to eat a nasty-ass crow; veggies are veggies, meat is meat, soylent green is people. I just don't think anybody should be surprised when I don't want to nibble off of Toucan Sam's leg.

I guess that's a better way of putting it.

in that sense, i don't care what people eat, either--it doesn't shift their scruples, regardless of how you or me feels about it
