I did for my freshman year, now I'm in an apartment with a friend.Dorms are overrated tbh
Is that I don't live on my own and go to school at a big University Right now I'm living with my parents and go to school at the state college in our same town. It's cool to have everything paid for and the comfortable living environment that I'm so used to, also get to spend time with my family and majority of my closest riends are here too I want the entire college experience.
But to live inside of that snowglobe, forcefully stuck behind the glass of the globe and intergrated into the city's pattern? I wouldn't enjoy it. I could do it if I set my mind to it. But I wouldn't enjoy it.
I've always mulled over whether or not I'd enjoy it. If I had my own subjects to take and learn, freedom, all that yada yada. I think I might. But everything comes with downsides.I'm not a fan of cities. They're a lot like snowglobes. Nice to look at from the perspective of a detached outsider. You go into them with a small sum of money, and you're free to do what you want. Spend some time there, enjoy the new sights and stuff, and then go back home. But to live inside of that snowglobe, forcefully stuck behind the glass of the globe and intergrated into the city's pattern? I wouldn't enjoy it. I could do it if I set my mind to it. But I wouldn't enjoy it.Likely, even if I was a student at one of the universities. This is only pushed further along by the answer I get when I ask myself, "What would I study?"I don't know. And therefore, the venture isn't worth it if I don't have a destination in mind. But I still wonder, sometimes.
I went away to college and lived in a dorm and got super homesick. College life wasn't what I thought it would be. I was fortunate and got a really nice dorm and had really cool roommates but I still didn't like it. I could have lived with one of my friends that goes there in a house but ended up turning him down and transferring and looking back, I'm glad I did.I'm currently living with my parents and driving to my college. My brother's trying to get me to move into the house next to his college's housing area, where I'll have a shorter drive to my college, but it doesn't seem appealing whatsoever to me. I've visited his house and I know I'd hate it. I would like to move out into an apartment closer to my college if I could get some cool roommates and be away from the college atmosphere but the option isn't really available to me.
