I genuinely believe this series was supposed to star Boba Fett, but then somebody pointed out that he wasn't a Mandalorian, and instead of coming up with a different name they just said, "Fuck it, make up a new character who is literally Boba Fett but is actually from Mandalore."

I think there was actually a Boba Fett standalone film in production that got quietly turned into this.

Criticisms of the service:

I don't even get a fucking discount (though 7 bucks a month is nothing) despite shilling away for the mouse. To make it worse, if I do want the service for free I would have to trade in my guest park passes for it; which is absolutely not worth it as those are essentially 16 free park hopper passes for my friends and family x3.

Settings only adjust subtitles and on the PS4 the subtitles don't even appear properly and appear above my screen. Also, when adjusting subtitles settings it has a tendency to break the video player and I end up having to back out of it.

I have mixed feelings on the matter. While a standalone Boba Fett movie would've been awesome, this lets us explore the lore of Mandalore/The Mandalorians a bit more.

tbh I don't particularly care for Boba Fett anyway. Not sure if I'll watch this but I've been hoping for stuff exploring the era between ROTJ and TFA for ages, really it's what I thought Rogue One and Solo should have done.

My dad gave me his login info so I could watch on my Xboner but the service has totally shit the bed currently (which isn't really surprising) so I'll just have to watch it some time later.

EDIT: Was able to watch it finally. Enjoyed it more than the sequel movies tbh.

Actually quite relieved to hear this isn't going to be a super-serious borefest, that was the impression I got from the trailers. Still not sure if I'll be able to check it out. Even if Disney+ was available in the UK there's no way I'd pay for it.

Basically, what I initially expected this to be was a Star Wars version of 3:10 to Yuma or something. What it's turned out to be IMO is more similar to an old Western TV show like the Lone Ranger or something, with a bit of Samurai Jack thrown in. I've come to enjoy this.

Apparently his name is Paz Visla. Which is fitting, because he's voiced by Favreau, as was Pre Visla from TCW.

If that’s a jab at people complaining about Rey, it completely physically drained Yeed to collapsing after only a few seconds whereas Kylo said (and we were subsequently showed) that she only got more powerful using the force and showed zero signs of weakness/fatigue.

Also no one is acting like Yeed isn’t special, Mando was specifically told his bounty was important/special whereas we’re told that Rey is somehow not and that she’s a nobody despite everything she does.

I liked it, tied in with The Clone Wars and Rebels which isn't surprising since Dave Filoni is involved. Will be neat to see what the new season of The Clone Wars does to tie into this since it's about the Siege of Mandalore.
