Were you using Sleight of Hand? If you weren't, that's probably why it was so uncomfortable.
It feels like a piece of shit. The pistol grip is shaped in just a way that it digs into the space between your thumb and index finger and it's super uncomfortable after a short while. Additionally, the charging handle is super easy to get pinched in if you're not being careful and the fire selector is stupidly placed. The original model was so shittily designed that it tore apart brass casings before ejecting them, invariably causing jams and the incidence of flying brass shrapnel.Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that it's of French origin which makes perfect sense.The FAMAS is shit. The only redeeming factor is that each rifle ships with a little white flag attachment so you can surrender in style like a true Frenchman.

I didn't play Battlefield 3 all that much but I hear its somewhat OP in that game too.

It's actually a pretty solid gun. There's a reason they are used all over the world and are expensive as fuck.
The FAMAS is easily one of the most uncomfortable guns I've ever used
